With the blessings of Maa Jwalaji, Two days International conference Titled “Innovation in Mesoscience and Nanotechnology: A Futuristic Paradigm” (13-14 September 2024) was organized by Laureate Institute of Pharmacy, Kathog, H.P, in Collaboration with Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia.
The conference received an overwhelming response. More than 1000 registrations, 154 scientific abstracts for the e-poster and oral presentations were received from abroad different states of India i.e Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. Delegates from the fifteen different colleges participated in the two-day national conference. This ceremony was live telecast to the participants and other dignitaries through a virtual method like YouTube live streaming.
Day first, in the inaugural function, Sh. Sanjay Rattan, Honorable MLA, Jwalamukhi presided as Chief Guest. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, SDM, Jwalamukhi, Dr. Ran Singh, MD, Laureate Group of Institute, Kathog, and Prof (Dr) U. S Mahadeva Rao, Faculty of Medicine, UniSZA, Malaysia was the Special Guest of the function. A welcome address was delivered by Prof (Dr) M.S Ashawat, Director cum Principal, Laureate Institute of Pharmacy. The brief introduction about the program was delivered by Prof (Dr). Vinay Pandit, Convener of the conference. Prof. (Dr.) C.P.S Verma, delivered the vote of thanks.
On day first, Dr. Nor Farid Bin Mohd Noor, Professor, Faculty of Medicine, UNISZa, Malaysia, delivered a talk on ‘The ki67-expressing cells: hidden gems in the oral cavity of adult mammals’ In his talks he highlighted the significance of K167-expressing cells in dental diseases.
On day first, second resource person Dr. Lakhveer Singh, Associate Professor, SPU, Mandi delivered a talk on ‘bio-electrochemical system: revolutionizing the future for sustainable bio-hydrogen production’. He highlighted the use of biohydrogen production as a long-term source of energy.
On day first, third resource person was Dr. U.S. Mahadev Rao, Professor, Faculty of Medicine, UNISZa, Malaysia. He delivered a talk on ‘A comprehensive review of variables contributing to childhood obesity: insights from the 21st century. He highlighted the different causes of obesity and how to prevent the obesity.
On day second, the first resource person was Dr. Amitabh Acharya, Principal Scientist, CSIR IHBT, Palampur. He delivered a talk on ‘Targeted drug delivery using nanoscale materials: a step towards personalized medicine’. He highlighted the importance of different nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery and how to optimize those nanocarriers.
On day second, the second resource person was Dr. Gaurav Kapoor, Associate Professor, SPU, Mandi, H.P. He delivered a talk on ‘Glutathione reductase and thioredoxin reductase novel antioxidant enzymes from plasmodium berghei’.
On day second, third resource person was Dr. Kamakshi Singh, MBBS, MD, Nephorolgy, Atal Institute of Medical Sciences, Shimla, India. She delivered a talk on ‘Chronic kidney disease (CKD): knowing kidney disease’. She highlighted the causes and present status of CKD in India and the world.
