We strive to provide the attention and opportunities students at all levels need to succeed in Formulation Development as well as in Research and Development. At the undergraduate level, we combine classroom and laboratory experience with research opportunities. At the graduate level, we provide state-of-the-art research infrastructure and facilities supporting internationally recognized research.

The mission of the Pharmaceutics Department is to prepare students to excel in postgraduate program and also to succeed in Formulation Development and Research and Development. To create pharmacy professional with profound Fundamental Knowledge, Understand Concepts & Learning of the core subjects.

Our research is supported by many Federal and private agencies: HPTU, AICTE,HIMCOSTE

We also foster an environment that encourages interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and research. We encourage our faculty to work closely with other departments on campus and around the globe to address the most challenging research questions.

The Department of Pharmaceutics focuses on teaching and research in following primary areas and offers specialization in the following disciplines:

The PK Lab supports clinical studies through the analysis of drugs in an array of biological matrices (e.g. plasma, urine), along with analysis.

Our department team is working toward developing a long-acting and effective treatment to improve patient compliance and therapeutic outcomes:

Along with Conventional oral and Topical dosage form to newer Developing Nanocarrier, smarter delivery system for Dermal targeting, Herbal Extraction, and Screening of Phyto-actives Targeting of such Phyto-actives to Dermal, Liver, Brain etc.

Major areas of Research:

The major areas of research work broadly include Novel drug delivery and conventional drug delivery which are as follows:

  • Advanced drug delivery systems
  • Nanoparticulate drug targeting approaches
  • Per Oral delivery systems – Buccal, Transdermal and topical drug delivery systems
  • Novel multiparticulate delivery platforms
  • Cell line studies for determining cytotoxicity and uptake of drugs and formulations
  • Dissolution and diffusion testing of drugs and formulations

The department has experienced and highly qualified faculty who are actively collaborating with National and International Universities, Institutes and Pharmaceutical Companies. The department has received funds from various government and private organizations such as ICMR, DST, AICTE, HPTU and State Pharmacy Council.
