Pharm. D is a six-year program for students pursuing a doctoral degree in pharmacy. Candidates will have five years of academic study and one year of internship during the program.
Pharm. D (Doctor of Pharmacy) is a pharmacy degree program approved by the Indian government in 2008, with the Pharmacy Council of India serving as the regulating body.
This course was created to prepare pharmacists to be valuable healthcare team members regarding patient care. In a country like India, where there are many problems related to drugs, inappropriate drug use, and non-adherence in patients with chronic diseases, a Pharm D course is essential.
The best way to improve patient care is for physicians to provide pharmaceutical treatments combined with the technical skills of clinical pharmacists.

Students must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology OR a pass in D. Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of The Pharmacy Act, eligible for the course Pharm.D.
